Private network provider Orro has partnered with Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) to manage the travel group’s retail shop network connectivity in a three-year deal. Flight Centre operates in 26 countries and is one of the largest travel groups in the world.
Orro is an Australian secure network and digital infrastructure provider and the three-year deal will see Orro manage the end-to-end networking connectivity for Flight Centre’s Australian retail shop network.
With travel restrictions easing and confidence among travellers returning, the network change is timely. The improved network visibility, redundancy, and stability will allow Flight Centre to provide optimized digital services for business and consumer travellers, as well as its shop network and partners.
Orro’s network management platform, One Touch Control, will consolidate the management of Flight Centre’s underlying telco data suppliers into one portal, offering greater network visibility and control. The platform will provide real-time status of network performance and proactive alerts on hardware health and network performance.

Managed from Orro’s Network Operations Centre, the solution has already been implemented across 427 sites in Australia, with the transition and improved redundancy via NBN and 4G in phase one of the program. The solution is also reducing network connectivity costs.
“Connectivity is mission-critical for Flight Centre as they evolve to become an omnichannel travel services retailer,” said Orro COO Daniel Greengarten. “Orro is pleased to be working closely with Flight Centre during this growth period.”
“Strengthening our network is critical to delivering on Flight Centre’s strategic objective of being the world’s best omnichannel provider of corporate and leisure travel services,” said Flight Centre Travel Group COO Chris Locke. “The Orro managed network allows us to reduce operational costs and invest in technology and products for future business growth.”
